Some moms spank, some don’t. The end.
Okay, not really, but wouldn’t it be nice if that’s where the argument ended? If we all just let each other parent according to our personal convictions then met up for frappuccinos on high school graduation day to congratulate each other on a job well done?
But noooo, the “I’m right, you’re wrong” arguments persist in every aspect of parenting from breastfeeding to screen time to prom—yes or no. And no debate flares hotter than spanking.
Is it biblical to spank?
Is it biblical not to?
I get the argument that the Bible allows for spanking, and if spanking works for your family, then sister, stand by your choice. But I also believe the Bible allows for some alternative methods of discipline, which are equally as faithful.
Join me on For the Family today where we’re exploring four alternatives to spanking—according to scripture. (No, really!)
Blessings,
Becky
