Today I have a special treat for you! I’m giving away a copy of a beautiful new picture book perfect for the holiday season, called ‘Twas the Evening of Christmas by Zonderkidz author Glenys Nellist and illustrator Elena Selivanova. This delightful rhyming story is a Christ-centered re-telling of the classic tale, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by Dr. Clement C. Moore.
’Twas the evening of Christmas, when all through the town,
Every inn was so crowded, no room could be found.
Tired Mary and Joseph, who went door to door,
At last found a place on a small stable floor.
From beginning to end, kids and adults alike will enjoy hearing the Christmas story told in lilting rhyme and depicted in richly colorful illustrations. From Mary and Joseph to donkeys, sheep, angels and wise men, every image captures the holy wonder and glory of Christ’s birth. The clever rhymes will engage a child’s attention to this entertaining and edifying biblical account of the first Christmas evening.
Although this is a picture book, I’d read it aloud to kids of all ages, from toddler through tween. It makes a wonderful addition to your family Christmas traditions. I’m definitely looking forward to reading it to my kids throughout the upcoming season.
