You know how I love Christmas shopping for my children, right? Well, kids aren’t the only people getting showered with gifts this time of year. What about our friends, siblings, co-workers, parents, the kiddos’ teachers, pastors, and SO MANY MORE?? As a follow-up to my earlier 2019 Christmas Gift List for Kids, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite finds for grown-ups as well. Yeeee!
Just for Her
Artwork necklace—My friend Liz introduced me to this delightful gift idea on Etsy. You send in a picture of your child’s artwork, and this jewelry maker creates a necklace of the drawing. She makes bracelets and necklaces of personalized handwriting, too. Such a fantastic idea for moms and grandmas!
Shiatsu massager—I bought this for myself on a lightning deal, and it’s crazy helpful for my stiff neck and shoulders {because I sit at a desk half the day}.
Die cutter—Crafters love a good die cutter for creating intricate shapes, easy lettering, and fast paper crafting. I bought this Sizzix manual starter kit for my daughter, but more sophisticated crafters go crazy over the digital machines like the flagship Cricut.
Lash Boost—I get asked on a regular basis how my eyelashes grow so long. It’s all thanks to Lash Boost. This is a lightweight, clear serum that you apply to your lash line every night to enhance and condition your natural lashes. (No extensions necessary!) Lash Boost is a fun and feminine gift for wives, nieces, sisters—any woman, really. Right now you can get it in a single tube (which lasts at least two months) or in a special holiday gift set.
Christian Encouragement
Faith Forward Family Devotional—Ruth and Patrick Schwenk, creators of The Better Mom and For the Family, just came out with a beautiful hardcover family devotional called Faith Forward. It contains 100 devotions written for busy families with children of all ages. Each devotion starts with a brief Bible verse or passage, followed by a short story or lesson. The authors highlight a “key idea” in each devotion as well as a few discussion questions to help apply the message. You could easily do these devotions at dinner time, bed time, or even weekly over Saturday donuts. A lovely gift for your Christian friends and teachers!
Hope Deck—The Hope Deck is one of my favorite timeless gifts for friends, teachers and ministry leaders. It’s a special collection of 30 cards, 4×6 each, printed with colorful designs of encouraging Bible verses. Each card is lined on the back for writing messages if you choose. The entire deck comes in a cotton drawstring bag, perfect for giving as gifts. You can also purchase a display case if you want to make the gift even more substantial. Each Hope Deck is normally priced at $23, but you can get them for only $9 each when you buy two or more (one for you and one for a friend) through my referral link. Plus FREE shipping for U.S. addresses!
Bible journaling supplies—This week Dayspring is running a sale of up to 60% off all their Bible journaling supplies. These are perfect for women who enjoy mixing Bible study, worship and prayer with creativity, writing, introspection and paper crafts.
My books—I can’t suggest Christian encouragement gifts without mentioning my own books, The Cranky Mom Fix, Generous Love, and The SuperMom Myth. Check out all the details here.
Household
Dayspring home decor—One of my favorite sources for inspirational home decor is Dayspring’s online shop. Check out their wall art, dishware, ceramics, throw pillows and lots more.
Grove Collaborative—I’m a regular Grove shopper because they make it so easy to replenish household supplies month after month. Grove Collaborative focuses on eco-friendly products that I can feel good about sharing with my family, including cleaning supplies, personal care products, pet items, kitchen tools and lots more. Right now Grove is featuring a Holiday Shop on their website with fun ideas for beauty product kits, aromatherapy sets, kitchenware gifts and lots more. Mugs, Mugs, Mugs—I know. Mugs are so cliché—as a teacher gift, maybe. But what good friend doesn’t love a healthy dose of humor or encouragement to kick off her day? Here are some of my favorite mug designs discovered lately.
I survived another meeting that should’ve been an email
I saw this mug on Amazon and immediately thought of my friend Cyndi, a rocket scientist among corporate leaders. We got a good laugh out of it, but we both agreed this mug might be a little offensive to the team she’s trying to build up, or to the people who conduct her performance review, ha ha. Still, nobody will ever know if she drinks from this mug before she gets to the office.
Avocado mug
I’m a sucker for all things avocado, and they’re super trendy right now. This one made me laugh out loud.
Subscriptions
Book of the Month—If you have an avid reader on your gift list, this is the best Christmas present ever. Book of the Month is a monthly subscription that invites members to choose from a list of five carefully curated, up-and-coming hardcover books for a fraction of what those books would cost full price. Members pay between $10 and $12 per book for titles that retail for $20 or more. It’s a constant source of reading indulgence and book recommendations—like Christmas every month for literature freaks. You can gift someone a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month subscription.
Ipsy—For $12 a month you get a fun cosmetic bag filled with sample-size beauty products ranging from lipstick to hand lotion, mascara, makeup brushes, nail polish, eye shadow and so much more. I’ve been an Ipsy subscriber for a couple years, and I’ve found my new favorite blush, powder, and concealer through these samples, which I now reorder in full-size products on a regular basis. Whatever I don’t use, I collect for missionary wives. And my daughters love switching off who gets to keep the cosmetic bag, which they use for a variety of storage (chap sticks, jewelry, hair ties, craft supplies, etc.). Ipsy is a fun gift for teen or college-age girls especially.
Stocking Stuffers
Anne Taintor—I’m just sassy enough to love a good Anne Taintor magnet or notepad in my life. Granted, some of her stuff is a little too edgy for my taste, but there’s a ton of milder humor to slap your socks off. Like this one, for example.
Treat Beauty lip balms—These are my sister’s absolute favorite lip balm, and she got me hooked. They’re all organic, made with coconut oil as the main ingredient, and they’re naturally sweetened so they don’t taste disgusting like normal chap sticks. Plus they come in all sorts of fun flavors like marshmallow cream, rainbow sherbet, peppermint stick, and lots more. My latest favorite is mint matcha tea. You can get tinted color sticks or clear balms. Oh, and these tubes are HUGE (like three times the size of a normal lip balm), so they last a long time.
And for the men in your life…
Bear Paws meat shredder—These bad boys are fantastic for shredding grilled or slow-cooked meat such as pork or beef roasts, and even chicken breasts. Every so often my hubby will cook a full pork shoulder in his outdoor smoker, then shred them like butter with his Bear Paws. Soooo tasty.
Eneloop—My hubby wants one of these rechargeable battery kits for Christmas. Imagine never having to run out to the store every time the remote control dies.
Food Saver—This vacuum sealer is probably my husband’s favorite and most-used kitchen tool. He uses it to store and freeze everything from chicken and pork chops to fresh strawberries, corn, and green beans straight from the summer farmer’s market. We enjoy the taste of farm-to-table produce all year round!
Wireless phone charger—My husband and I recently upgraded our iPhones (from 6 to X… yes, we’re so behind the times) and our cell phone carrier sold us on this wireless charging pad. It’s fantastic. Just set your phone on top of it, and the battery juices up. Like magic.
Eddie Bauer Men’s MicroTherm down jacket—I bought this jacket on sale for my husband three years ago and it’s still his go-to jacket all fall and winter. It keeps him warm and dry without the bulk of a thick parka. Eddie Bauer lists it for $229, but Amazon carries the exact same jacket for $149.
One last thing!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you shop online without Ebates (now called Rakuten), you’re leaving money on the table. Rakuten is a FREE service that allows you to earn a percentage of cash back from your online purchases. Every quarter you can redeem your cash back in the form of a check in the mail or gift cards. I just got a check for $55.05 this week, all for cash back earned on stuff I was gonna buy anyway. FREE MONEY, people! Sign up here and get a $10 bonus with your first qualified purchase.
I hope you’ve found a fun gift idea or two in this list. I sure had fun compiling it! Enjoy the process of showering your loved ones with your presents and, more importantly, your presence this holiday season.
Blessings!
Becky
